Dr. Md Abdus Samad is a telecommunications scholar, researcher, and educator whose research focuses on the intersection of wireless communications, artificial intelligence, and next-generation network technologies. He is a Research Professor in the Department of Information and Communication Engineering at Yeungnam University, Gyeongsan, South Korea. He is also a registered Korean Researcher and an active IEEE member, contributing to the advancement of telecommunications standards and research.

He previously taught at the undergraduate and graduate levels in the Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering at International Islamic University Chittagong, where he served as an Assistant Professor from 2013 to 2017, contributing to the development of future telecommunications engineers through teaching, mentoring, and curriculum development.

His research explores how next-generation wireless networks (5G and beyond 6G) can overcome challenges related to millimeter-wave propagation, atmospheric interference, and signal quality—and how artificial intelligence and machine learning can enhance wireless system performance, network optimization, and propagation prediction. His leading and collaborative work has appeared in over 55 reputable journals indexed in SCIE (Science Citation Index Expanded) and SSCI (Social Sciences Citation Index), including publications in high-impact telecommunications and engineering journals.

His research has been supported by prestigious funding sources, including the Korean Government Scholarship (Global Korea Scholarship) during his doctoral studies and the National Research Foundation of Korea, underscoring the significance and quality of his work in advancing wireless communication technologies.

His work has contributed to the global understanding of advanced wireless communication systems. His research findings address critical challenges in millimeter-wave frequencies, atmospheric effects on signal propagation, and AI-enhanced network optimization. He actively serves the academic community as a peer reviewer for multiple international journals indexed in the Web of Science.

He has been recognized through the highly competitive Korean Government Scholarship (Global Korea Scholarship), which supports outstanding international students, and has established research metrics demonstrating his scholarly impact: Scopus Author ID: 57220375948, Web of Science ResearcherID: JPL-7257-2023.

He has worked for the Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering at International Islamic University Chittagong (2013-2017), where he contributed significantly to developing telecommunications engineering education. He received his Ph.D. in Information and Communication Engineering from Chosun University, Gwangju, South Korea in 2022. His doctoral studies were fully supported by the prestigious Korean Government Scholarship, recognizing his academic excellence and research potential.
